The crisp air reminds us that the Christmas holidays will soon be upon us in all of their glitz and dazzle.
For some of us at least. The holidays also seem to magnify the divide between those rushing from store to store and those whose pantries are empty. It might not be so simple to identify who is in the land of plenty and who is in a time of need.
Take time today to look around at work, in your neighborhood or among friends and family. Maybe look for those in need on your drive home or to work. They could very well be your next door neighbor.
Search for those who might dread the holidays? As a family or as coworkers, ask, “Who can we bless this season? Who needs help making this season truly joyful?” Be creative because for many, Christmas goes beyond having gifts under a tree. For many, having a joyful Christmas means having food to eat or a warm place to sleep. May those in greatest need inspire us to start being extravagant in our care.
Bless someone today. Let blessings flow.
