What if a garden did more than provide food? What if it was also about growing communities?
The big dream was to create 12 community gardens in three years. Today, thanks to the dream of Rev. Stephanie Ahlschwede, the Big Garden is a network of 70 community gardens in the metro-Omaha area and semi-rural communities in Nebraska and Kansas.
We’re about meeting people where they are and learning about their needs, not telling them what … they need.
Partnerships with neighborhood-based congregations, schools and non-profits are bringing new life and new relationships to communities who are learning about self-sufficiency, environmental stewardship and healthy living.
