Rethink Church
Women's Empowerment
We believe advocacy for the equality between women and men results in positive change that improves the world.

When we put our beliefs into action for gender equality CHURCH CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE.

We think church can happen anywhere women are equally respected. It happens when education leads to better wages for women and girls, empowering them to avoid victimization. When we provide healthcare that helps them safely raise strong families. And when economic justice combats poverty and exploitation.

Putting our beliefs into action for gender equality. That’s what it means to rethink church.

COMBATTING POVERTY

Combating poverty takes on many forms. It looks like advocating for a living wage, knowing that most servers in the restaurant industry are women. Wefind it when we build relationships by participating in programs that address poverty reduction in our communities. It happens when we train young women to take charge of their health.

GREATER ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE
We believe in supporting the health and family needs of women and children around the globe. Women are still dying in childbirth, children continue to die from preventable diseases, and many communities have no access to healthcare. From Latin America to Africa to Asia, United Methodist Women works to remove the barriers to living fuller lives by addressing issues like access to healthcare and healthy living.

Some people think "church" happens on Sundays. We think that living out what we believe, by transforming society, happens 24/7. If you share our passion for education, and believe that access truly changes lives and changes the world, we hope you'll get involved.

CHURCH CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE.
