Our Buying Decisions Matter

We love our cell phones. Our chocolate. Our stylish cotton clothing. And although we don’t want to enjoy our good at the expense of those who harvested the materials and produced the products—often deprived of their human rights—most manufacturers today can’t yet guarantee this. Auret van Heerden traces the global supply chains that bring us our favorite products and invites us each to choose justice. In an Indian slum, sweatshop workers asked him to deliver this message: “The people who employ us treat us like we are less than human, like we don’t exist. Please ask them to treat us like human beings.”
