We believe that Christmas is a reminder of Love: humanity's love for one another and God's love for all of us.
Many of the traditions we engage in at Christmastime -- from the whacky to the highly symbolic -- are meant to draw us closer with other people. At Christmastime, we celebrate that God has come close to us in the form of Jesus. As God came close to us, so we draw close to one another.
If you're looking for deeper connection this Christmas, check out some of the things we are up to as we #UnwrapChristmas, too.
For those who are away from home for the first time or for those looking for a group of people to draw close with this season, we can help find a community of faith to celebrate with.
We believe that church is not just something we do for an hour on a Sunday morning. "Church" is the people who are representing God's love in the world. We hope you'll explore what church is alonside us.
Advent is the season leading up to Christmas. It is a time of preparation. We're inviting people to prepare by reflecting on the meaning of the season. We'd love it if you joined us, too. How? By joining our Photo-a-Day challenge.
Each day, we'll supply a word of reflection. You are invited to share your response to that word through a picture. Tag your social media post with #RethinkChurch. And don't worry if you've missed a few days!
While we're not actually a church, we are a community. We'd love it if you joined us as we explore together the meaning of Christmas and the practice of church. Don't miss any of our blog posts, photo challenges, or podcast episodes by signing up for our bi-weekly Compass newsletter.
